Easy to use. Copes well with the skis.

I love this product. This is definitely something I would buy again. I've used it on a few 120km ski tours and on some routes I often ski at 130-145km/h. On these ski trips, I usually have a pair of skis and a snowboard in my trunk. So far, the ski bindings have held up without any problems. First, they are easy to install around the crossbars. Be careful not to overtighten the ski carrier; You don't want to scratch the cross members. You really only need to tighten the ski rack's legs just enough to hold the racks firmly on the rails. I took the extra precaution of putting pieces of rubber under the legs of the ski binding. The ski lock is also easy to use. I wouldn't call it "safe" as you only need an allen wrench to remove the entire ski rack. However, if you leave your skis for a few minutes to stop at a rest stop, the lock will deter the average thief. The lock also prevents the ski box from opening while driving. When I first used the lock it was a bit difficult to get the key in and out, but once I used the key once or twice my difficulties went away. Please note that you need to keep the ski carrier fully closed to easily lock/unlock the ski carrier. One thing I don't like, the key doesn't seem to be default. If I ever lose my keys I really hope a locksmith can help me. Finally, as advertised, once you have your skis in the stand, the stand opens at the push of a button. In short, I absolutely love these ski racks; They are so much better than cramming my wet skis into my small car.
