More washers/spacers can be used.

Easy to install. However, there were not enough washers/spacers for the clamps in the kit. I have a mini and the crossbars are thick.

Pros
  • Very effective
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Nice shelf for the money.

There was a small chip on one post which can be seen in the photo. I emailed the seller about the problem and they responded very quickly and promised to send another one for free! Easy install and the locks seem to work fine, I only had one snowboard on the rack but it works great and looks good on my jeep.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Discontinued

2008 Fit Suburban with some tweaks

Fits but needed some adjustment to fit without damaging my car's top. The bolts were too long for my suburb. They didn't hit my car with no load but I could tell they would have hit if they had skis on it and I hit a bump. I recommend shearing the bolts and using some sort of threadlocker to keep the nuts from loosening.

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Not as versatile, but inexpensive.

Installed on Yukon Denali 2008. Same as Tahoes and Escalades. First, the bolts were too long, they would go straight into the roof. I had to cut them in half and rewind them to fit, took at least 3 hours to install. On my first ride I had to pour water over it because the lock was frozen and I couldn't physically get the key in. Finally, the latches aren't locked like I've seen on other models. It's a pretty silly design, if someone with an Allen key can easily remove it and steal your stuff…

Just like Thule! NO!

After reading other reviews I had high hopes for this product. This product is a prime example that you get what you pay for. The plastic fasteners that attach the trunk to the car are fragile and poorly made. They don't fit the post snugly and I broke one trying to tighten it. There is a lot of play when attaching it so I was trying to tighten it when it broke. Everyone knows that a loose trunk rattles on the car. Also, the trunk clips don't fit my trunk even though they are advertised as…

Not bad for the price but not great either

Actually the ski rack is a decent run and works great. We were able to mount 6 skis on it. However, the hardware that comes with the rack is cheap and versatile. One of the seals broke when the box was opened. The brackets are cheap hard plastic, as are the gaskets. The screws are very long so one size fits all, but they were too long for my roof rack. If you are buying this rack knowing you will need to replace or repair the hardware then this is a good buy. You can order other hardware or go…

3 notable items to go with the accessories

I had a lot of ski bindings in my 50's. and this trunk is very similar to my Thule trunk on my other car. But I needed a longer ski rack for my truck. BUT NOTE THIS: 1. The lock isn't as pretty as the Thule one and the key doesn't come out when the lock is in the open position. The key will not be released until the lock is turned to the locked position. ----- In other words, you CANNOT put your skis in the trunk and leave it unlocked. 2. Hex head bolts rusted in week-long Oregon weather. I…

Not very suitable, cheap plastic fittings.

It may work for what I need it for, but it's not an easy fix. Pros: - Cheap - Poles look strong enough. Not very good: - Hardware that attaches to the crossbar, made out of cheap plastic. It kind of defeats the purpose of a locking system where someone could just cut through the plastic with a small pair of wire cutters or bolt cutters. "Universal fit" is in quotation marks. If your bars have a profile (think teardrop shape) they will be difficult to install and provide stability without…

Easy to use. Copes well with the skis.

I love this product. This is definitely something I would buy again. I've used it on a few 120km ski tours and on some routes I often ski at 130-145km/h. On these ski trips, I usually have a pair of skis and a snowboard in my trunk. So far, the ski bindings have held up without any problems. First, they are easy to install around the crossbars. Be careful not to overtighten the ski carrier; You don't want to scratch the cross members. You really only need to tighten the ski rack's legs just…
