My cousin and I have been dabbling in vinyl projects during quarantine last year and I was looking for something that would be easier for small projects like adding names to stuffed animals. Each of us chose one to try that matched the colors in our workshops. This option took 2 minutes and 3 seconds to warm up from the cold to the most intense heat. You have to hold the button for a few seconds to turn it on. I was worried at first but keep up the good work. This was supposed to be a safety feature to make sure kids didn't burn down the house. I recommend placing a silicone pad underneath as shown when heating to protect the table or work surface. I applied the vinyl in several places along the row and the heat was consistent. After 5 consecutive uses it still keeps you warm with no issues. The heat is also easily distributed over the entire surface of the heating plate. When creating your real project, not just a tester, I recommend using Teflon sheet (not included with this product). It gets the job done and saves you money compared to a small name brand heat press.
