Review on DEWALT DWV9000 Universal Connector by Erick Bowers

Revainrating 1 out of 5

As other reviewers said

Adapter to suit your application. I had to hook up their DWS780 miter saw to a Ridgid vacuum. It's as simple as it gets, right? Not as much. I called DeWalt three times. Each time I got different answers. Their customer service department told me that I would need a DWV9000 (at least they got it right) and that I would also need a 9120 or 9130 or 40 or 50 or 60. But none of their fools told me I needed a 9190. After reading other reviews on Revain I was able to figure it out, after all they (DeWalt) couldn't even provide basic product specs like ID and OD for each end of each adapter. .I don't want to provide information that will help DeWalt sell more of these. But for anyone who needs adapters for the same application, note that the end of this connector (DWV9000) connects to the dust port on your DWS780 (and a range of other DeWalt tools) with ball bearings inside. The threaded end is used to screw onto the hose of DeWalt vacuum cleaners. If you want to connect it to a commercial vacuum like my Ridgid, the DWV9190 screws into the threads of the DWV9000 and the other end of the 9190 pushes into a nominal 2 1/2" hose. The 1/2" industrial vacuum hose is the Nominal size.) Externally, my industrial vacuum cleaner (and most other brands) has a 2 1/4" connection diameter. The DWV9190's internal diameter is approximately 2 1/4". Correct fit. Next time I need a power tool, DeWalt will be way off my list because unless they can provide very basic information (either on their website or over the phone with customer service) to help customers choose the right accessory, which one Do you think service will be provided when your tools need to be repaired? Warranty or not?!

Pros
  • Universal Allows quick, easy and secure connection of 1 1/4" vacuum hose to a variety of tools and housings DW
Cons
  • Weight
