The cake stand is very pretty. I like that it can be folded up to save space. It's good quality and when it's closed you don't have to worry about the handle coming off. I've used it twice. Great that you can see the cake through the container. There are several reasons I downgraded it to 4 stars: 1. The straps won't detach from the base. While this makes the straps more durable, it also means that I have to hand clean the straps to wash them.2. Since the ties don't detach from the bottom, it also means that when I open the lid, the ties next to the cake aren't secured. The first time I used it the straps got in the way and hit the icing while I was cutting the cake. The second time I had to laboriously detach the cake base from the presentation holder. If someone is clumsy, this can be a problem. The lid was easy to remove, but it was inconvenient to remove the cake from the base.3. For clarity, I've added a fancy round cake stand in gold with seashells for a prettier look. It would be nice if the purchase included a reusable one.4. It would be great to add a cake pop topper as well for more versatility. Pros: Cute, durable, lid easily detaches and puts back on to carry. Tall enough for a three tier candle cake, sure. Folds up for storage. Holds cupcakes as well as cakes. Cons: The straps get in the way and ruin the display if the cake rises awkwardly from the base. Doesn't work for cake pops. It is difficult to wash the base.
