Colors, brightness and clarity on this VA panel are excellent: I can't see any significant color difference between my AW3418DW IPS (premium gaming monitor) and this one. However, the factory calibration of my device was bad and others have said the same, so it is recommended to calibrate it. I suspect the reviews complaining about the display don't have the exact settings. To get a feel for how bad the calibration is, I had to move the red color from 50 to 38. Otherwise, this monitor's low price comes from a lack of frills, with a fairly primitive but effective stand, no USB, no speakers, and no VESA mount. Surprisingly, the multi-device display is included and looks amazing. It is possible to play on this monitor, but it is better to play games like Civilization or Minecraft than Counter-Strike: every gamer should already know that. Regardless, I give it 5 stars for gaming because it is NOT a 60Hz gaming monitor, but still I played games at 30fps and 60fps as a kid. At least 75 Hz would be good, but c'est la vie. My calibration settings are: R: 38G: 54B: 50 Brightness: 61 Contrast: 65. These values were determined subjectively by eye, so they may not work for you, and your monitor probably needs a different calibration anyway.
