I tested this drive on the same computer with the same software against a cheaper drive (I won't name it to sound biased) and the cheaper drive recorded the same file at 16x in 2 minutes 37 seconds. This drive burned DVDs at the same 16x speed but ran a minute longer (3 minutes 38 seconds). That's almost THIRTY PERCENT slower than the cheaper off-brand product. This PC Part Picker Disc was recommended to me, but I'm glad I found a better product. They found this post helpful. Save yourself the trouble and look for another drive.
