Every time I start a new aquarium without fish, I mark on the calendar exactly how many days it will last. My last aquarium, which I only launched in May 2021, was a 75 gallon tank that took exactly 35 days using Seachem Stability and regular odorless PLAIN household ammonia as the ammonia source. The aquarium I started just before last winter was 125 gallons and lasted 42 days. I have had six 3 inch discus, a few armored catfish and a school of 8 cardinal tetras in a 75 gallon aquarium for almost 2 1/2 months now and all are doing great. Regular unscented household ammonia and Seachem Stability is all I use to cycle my tanks and it works flawlessly every time and usually lasts no more than 6 weeks, typically around 5 weeks. This time I was surprised that this 75 gallon aquarium worked and was ready for some of my discus in just 35 days.
