Updated - earned!

I have upgraded my rating from one to four stars. I refused to believe that Makita would sell junk, so I carefully disassembled the unit. There is a cam that controls the (ratchet) feed of the screws. I came without a seat. I reinstalled it, built it and got the device working. Be careful with the depth setting - if you turn the screw at eye level while standing on the ground, you have to step back from the depth or you'll turn too deep. If you find yourself in an awkward position on the stairs where you can't get full pressure behind the gun, adjust it lower. Just rocked my garage, turned 1000 screws, saved real time with a gun and this feeder. First Rating: Very disappointed at this point. I can't set up the automatic feed. As far as I can tell, this is a bad design. There is no obvious way for the two small plastic tabs to properly engage the notches in the screw rods. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but my current opinion is a waste of money.
