Review on Capricorn Extruder by Creality 3D - Assembled for Optimum Performance by Rob Dixon

Very close to OEM, prints exactly the same almost exactly the same PID

This hotend assembly is almost identical to my original Ender 3 Pro parts. A small (a little uncomfortable) difference is the exact size of the tapered thread that the Bowden tube coupling attaches to. The coupling must be twisted further than the original. This wouldn't be a problem for most, but in my case I made a "Hot Fix" mod. (Google it). And that doesn't work either. Also some other small differences. The Phillips head screw on the original thermometer has been replaced with a flat head hex key. The coating on the heating block is yellowish. Assembled it is approx. 1 mm longer. But it fits and prints exactly the same. It even has connectors on the fan parts and thermometer wires that match the motherboard.

Pros
  • Slip additives make our XS series hose the lowest friction Bowden hose on the market. Less friction means more responsiveness, less pullback, more accurate printing, less slippage, extruder wear, and less clogging when printing with coarse filaments like some wood or iron fillers. Less retraction means time saved each time the extruder retracts. In the printing process, a few milliseconds here and a few there add up to a huge time saver.
Cons
  • Vanish
