I only bought this for the reason that I get a lot of out of scale drawings. Customers can fax, resize and email drawings or copy onto smaller paper. Programming custom scales (3 available) consists of simply rolling the Scale Master over two points of known size, e.g. B. a 3 foot or 8 foot doorway. Upper limit, enter a value and fix it. Now you can precisely scale everything in the drawing. If you need to reprogram it for a different page or drawing, you can 1) use one of the other two custom scales, or 2) reprogram the one you are using in seconds. It's also handy to use preset scales (1/8th, 1/4th, 3/16th, etc.) when your eyes are too tired to read the little markings on an old-fashioned drawing scale. Personally, I can't do without it in my business. It's June 2013 and I replaced the battery once. I haven't had a single problem with this tool! Pretty amazing this "throw away" age!
