Rugged design, you know you will see the object accurately because the probe is narrow at the end. Not that this product will give you a general idea of where the cable is. Where you drill a hole in the wall/where the cable is actually good is your fault/blame hahaha. On the other hand, if you're behind a switch with 30 weird wires trying to find one that the printer connects well to, this little tool really comes in handy and works great. Or, if you're on the rafters or under a building, it lets you know loud and clear if you're on the right cable. But remember this is only half of what you need, you also need something to give the signal for it to pick up. Available seperately. This is a great product and I would highly recommend it as it is an inexpensive way to find your way through that clutter or lonely wire in the attic.
