Great Instant Heat System So Far

Ready Hot 41-RH-300-F560-BN Instant Hot Water System: $375.54 at time of review My wife and I are in the middle of a kitchen remodel and the thought occurred to me that this would be the perfect time for a water heater. We looked around and while Revain has a few variations on these systems, only this one from Ready Hot seemed to fit the bill. *What I liked*: This is a complete kit for instant hot water and cold water supply (no built-in cooling). At first we looked for hot water only systems but quickly realized that we also needed cold water as we wanted to place an in-line filter in front of this unit to filter both hot and cold water. For the price, this is the best set you will get for both hot and cold water. The mixer is really good. The handles feel firm and the hot water requires the handle to be depressed before turning on, an important safety feature. The spout is a bit high, but our new sink is rustic, so it's pretty deep. I could see that the extra height is good for smaller sinks. The boiler can hold water up to 208°F. It's *really* hot. Pretty cool if you want to brew your tea at a boiling temperature close to the recommended 212°F, for example. We decided to leave it at 194°. It's hot enough for tea but not hot enough to use more energy to keep it at that level. In addition, configuring this setting is very easy. On the front there are buttons with a digital display, with which you can easily select the desired temperature. Boiling water and cold water come out of different pipes inside the spout. So cold water can have an aerator. It also allows you to slightly speed up the flow of cold water. *What I didn't like*: The water tank/boiler is quite big. It takes up about a quarter of the cabinet under the sink and cannot be attached to the wall, just has to stand there. There are no color options for the faucet (except brushed nickel and chrome). I was originally looking for an oiled bronze to match our new faucet, but they only come in metallic colors. Like all instantaneous water heaters, limescale can form on the heating rods. As mentioned, we installed a built-in filter (this one here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DYIYMW2/) to mitigate this issue and I strongly encourage you to do the same (regardless , the brand you buy). You can also filter cold water this way. *Conclusion:* Overall, I am very satisfied with this hot water device. I use it 3 or 4 times a day to make tea and sometimes to remove stubborn stains from dishes (it's great for removing wax from lipstick/lip gloss on wine glasses). Some disadvantages can either be circumvented or ignored. This is a solid five out of five. I would definitely order this again.
