Review on Mirka 9A 232 320 Abranet Abrasive Sanding by Shah Nelson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good sanding while it lasts

I use a lot of this material when finishing an oak cabinet between coats of some sanding sealers, varnishes etc. On older cabinets where we chose not to remove all of the old stain/paint layers, we sanded the surface with it before applying the dewaxed shellac "sealing coat". The first panel was quickly cut out, but these spacers wear out much faster than, for example, Festool "Granat" paper. I can use 400 grit between coats. For very light removal, to "deburr" excess paint, etc., I can use "pre-made" (used) grinding wheels. I use Mirka protection pads which are designed for these ROS pads. I wish they were available in sheets for my other orbital sander (non-rotary) which uses 80 x 130mm paper. The 5-inch rectangular pads are under 130mm but can be used for corners. The dust removal is ok, but not as good as the paper with dust catcher specially developed for my ROS. You can vacuum these pads between uses or rinse and dry them.
