This drive makes a lot of noise. If you prefer disc drive noise, vibration, and squeaks when watching DVDs or playing other media, then this option is for you. I didn't find any problems with dual layer DVDs, but there were some problems with the external tracks of some audio CDs. The color of the drive is light gray, not beige as one might think. The drive tray was slightly misaligned and looked like everything would fall apart after a few months of use as it made a clicking noise when opening and closing. I found no value in the price and would recommend anyone considering a new DVD drive to buy from media giants like Sony or Samsung, whose quality and attention to detail will never be matched by Pacific Digital.
