Review on Woodstock D2260A Mini Mobile Base by David Gibbs

I do not recommend purchasing unless you have a deep love of product assembly.

I don't usually write reviews, I think this may be my second customer and I've been a customer since 2013. But I can't resist after spending 2 hours building this thing last night. I bought this model for my drill press which has a narrow footprint and as it can be adjusted quite a bit it was a good option. All my other mobile bases are from Jet, come almost fully assembled and cost little more. But like I said I needed something that could fit my drill press and the Jet product wouldn't fit. All in all, it's a terrible design. There is limited space to properly position the socket and/or wrench to tighten everything. Whoever thought of locking set screws with locknuts the wrong way round should get back to school. To tighten them as recommended, you must first screw them on normally (shoulder to screw head) so you can see the outline of the threads in the nylon before unscrewing, twisting and rethreading. If you just try to put them on the wrong way round, you will end up twisting them. Anyway, do yourself a favor and don't buy this thing, if you want a smaller base, just make it yourself, find another model, or just live without it. Using nothing is the best option for this thing.
