Review on ๐Ÿšฐ Moen Arbor Motionsense Wave Sensor Touchless Kitchen Faucet: Power Clean, Spot Resist Stainless by Chad Jeffries

Ideal for 3 years, then fix the leak.

I bought this unit a little over 3 years ago and it started dripping from the handle in the up (hot) position. Everything else was perfect. I'm not sure how long this type of faucet is supposed to last, so I'm just deducting one star. I've already installed it twice (replacing the countertop) and the installation was easy, although it took a long time as I don't install faucets very often. UPDATE (4/16/16): I used a hex wrench to remove the handle. You will need a mirror to figure out what angle to place the allen wrench at. Use the long end. The short end doesn't work. It's tricky, the Allen key angle isn't what you might intuitively think. Once the pin was removed, I removed the cap holding the cartridge. I inspected the cartridge but it appeared to be in very good condition with no visible wear. I applied silicone grease to the three o-rings and the entire outer rim. I put the cartridge back in and put the cap on. Tightened with a wrench, but not much. Put the handle back and no more leaks. I'll let you know if it leaks again, trust me. UPDATE (10/30/19): The leak has been occurring every 6 months for several years. Sorry I didn't update sooner. Silicone grease always solves the problem. for 6 months. But the cartridge must be removed. I have a "kit" that I'm putting together myself at the moment. "Fix" now takes 20 minutes down from the 3 hours it took me the first time. Annoying but not enough to spend on another faucet.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Mostly fine, but...
