Highly recommended. I have read every review and watched every video I could find on this lens. I think the reviews are correct. If you read and watch them, you'll know exactly what you're buying. The only downside to this lens, which I think is undeniable, is its weight. Yes, it's a bit difficult. It doesn't bother me at 6ft 180lbs but it can be a little off-putting for some. However, I love every other feature and aspect of this lens and feel that the weight is just a by-product of superior design and construction. There is one thing not mentioned in the reviews that is of paramount importance and must be considered in today's high tech world. The lenses are part of the imaging system. The system mainly consists of camera, lens and software. Comparing this lens to other sharper lenses means nothing unless you plan on making huge prints. With modern sensors and software, the final image is rarely compromised by a quality lens that's only 99% that of any other ultra-sharp zoom. Given FL's incredible range, the choice was easy for me too. As many reviews have said, rent it first if you can to make sure the weight is ok. You will love the photos.
