Review on πŸ”§ Enhanced Precision: Upgraded Creality Anycubic Extruder Printer for Superior Printing by David Fields

General disappointment - not recommended for Ender 3 V2

I had high hopes for this and researched that it would require some tweaking to work with the Ender 3 V2. the direction of the stepper motor, or rather the voltage applied to the motor, which I found to be easiest, was to unplug the cable from the motherboard, gently pry the cover pin out of the motherboard (just slipped it off), rotate it 180 degrees, and close then plug the cable back in. I also had to update the firmware to increase the esteps to 395 which seemed to match my calibration. However, I was only able to get a semi-successful desktop print with 1.75mm PLA. After I switched to a different 1.75mm PLA to fine-tune, the extruder only printed well for the first few layers, but then the extruder just slipped and chewed up the filament. I checked the calibration twice to make sure I wasn't extruding too fast, tried adjusting the tension, disassembled the extruder, cleaned the gears and started over. I also tried to properly align the filament between the gears and adjust the tension. Overall I think this is a poor quality knock off and not a good experience. I'm going to default to the Ender-style all-metal extruder to bypass it until I decide to buy a better extruder, but I probably won't even officially be BondTech at that point.
