Review on 100Ft Cat6 Ethernet Network Internet Cable by Tutan Dennard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

CAT 6 is faster than CAT 5

I have subscribed to Cox high speed internet and 150 Mbps. Speed My desktop has Wi-Fi and when I tested on speedtest.net I only got 40 to 50 MB/s. I called my ISP and they told me to connect an ethernet cable. I accidentally had Cat 5 lying around so I plugged it in and got 80-120MB/sec. Still not satisfied because I'm paying 150MB/sec. So I ordered this Cat 6 Ethernet cable and lo and behold, I get 140 to 170 MB/s. At first I thought a cable was a cable but there was a big difference from category 5 to category 6. I can't speak for others but yes this category 6 cable had a huge impact on my speed test which is why I gave it a 5 gave stars. Now I'm happy because I get the speed I pay for.

Pros
  • CONFIGURATION - 100 foot Category 6 Ethernet patch cord has 8 solid 24 AWG copper conductors. Each of the 4 unshielded twisted pairs (UTP) is separated by a polyethylene cross-gap to isolate the pairs and prevent crosstalk and is covered by a 5.8mm thick PVC jacket with RJ45 connectors and gold plated contacts. Molded strain relief covers help eliminate snags that can damage cables. They are shaped for flexibility and resistance to normal wear and tear.
