Physical installation is surprisingly easy. The wiring harness that connects directly to it was already in my truck. This unit even came with a factory fuse, which is custom sized and a bit harder to find. 2 very important things to know: - If you don't already have a working brake controller, you should check your f150 to make sure it's wired for the fuse, in fuse slot #24. Your truck isn't pre-wired for that, what makes installation considerably more difficult. I've heard of trucks with a tow pack but no wiring at this location. - After installing this, you need to activate it through the truck's computer. I used Forscan to activate it when I had a working OBD II adapter with the right tire, I was able to do it in 5 minutes. Otherwise you will have to go to the retailer to activate it. I spoke to my dealer and they told me this was not possible as I don't have a towing package. However, I managed to get it working with Foscan.
