The right tool for the right job.

So, as many of you know, I'm knee deep in a whole house remodeling project and this little tool has proved almost invaluable on my attic lift project. I live in a ranch style house that is undergoing a complete renovation. from the underground to the roof, everything in this house is being moved, changed, modernized, removed, replaced. This 3/8" head with 3/8" drive was used during my attic "elevator" project where I basically converted one of my attic hotspots into an attic/kitchen lift. I have used garage door sprockets mounted to the garage door axle/tube. which provides the mechanism for raising and lowering the attic elevator. As you can see from the photos, structural support was created to properly carry this project over the attic threshold. The socket fits my ratchet wrench 3/8" and the square of the socket fits 3/8" to the square nut on the cap. Pinion/wheel garage door excellent. No rounded edges, no risk of stripping, a truly perfect fit. With this nut I was able to slightly tighten the corresponding screws on the sprocket and thus ensure that the drive tube/axle did not slip. The tool worked great and the project met my expectations. Very happy with the end result and grateful to have added this tool to my arsenal :-)
