This is not a durable fabric as advertised but everything else in the specs is true. I only use it as a drawing cloth and it has worked really well for me. I don't know if I'll ever wash it, so I can't comment on washing. Because the plastic layer is quite thin and this layer is laid face down and the canvas face up; I made sure to sweep the areas where I used it so I didn't accidentally pierce the plastic layer. I used it outside on my porch with an open concrete surface (smooth stone with no sharp edges); as well as indoors on the wooden floor and on the carpet. It wasn't slippery on the surfaces I've used it on but can be on some surfaces so test it out first and maybe use old slick materials between the fabric and the surface you're protecting.
