You must properly tighten the old drain rod assembly or it will leak

First, like many others, we ordered the wrong size. Then when we got the 1.25" and tried to install it, we found that we had to remove the control rod from our existing dump piston. Did that and installed this new drain. screwed it back in and turned on the water, it dripped a lot. So to use this with the drain rod and plunger type you will need to go to the hardware store and get a plug screw to plug the hole that the control rod goes in. Either that or go back to your previous drain which we ended up doing by bringing this one back. To the right. Upgrade to four stars.
