works, but: External components

Following questions: 1. The USB-B on the supplied cables is defective in my opinion. They require too much pressure to insert and remove. most likely a defective part. One of the USB-B cables resulted in the metal shield coming off when trying to disconnect it from the connector. All 4 supplied USB cables seem to suffer from the same problem. I tried using one of my own USB cables, and although it was snug, I was able to disconnect the cable with a quarter of the effort. 2. The previous KVMs I had, with a keyboard and mouse port, were intelligent enough to detect if a dual-mode device was connected to the keyboard port. I am using a Logitech receiver keyboard/mouse. With this device, I had to program a second receiver to make my mouse work. This is the first KVM or computer I've seen that doesn't support the ability to use a single receiver per keyboard (or mouse) port.3. As others have said, the keyboard/mouse recognition is spirited. When switching between computers, I sometimes have to unplug the keyboard's USB transceiver before the keyboard will work on the selected computer. This is more than annoying for AIMOS.4. It seems that AIMOS is no longer active or at least its web domain has expired since the information in the manual and the QR code on the packaging are no longer valid. Summary: It has some pretty serious annoyances, but for the first 30 minutes to get hooked, it works. I wouldn't call it working satisfactorily as sometimes you have to unplug your keyboard or mouse for the device to recognize it's there. UPDATE: I moved the merging receivers to HUB 1/2 ports and the previous behavior when switching between machines is better. You lose the ability to toggle with hotkeys, but if that fixes the other quirks I can live with that much better. I can also switch back to a single mouse and keyboard receiver through the hub port.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • I won't say anything
