Fewer touch and tactile measurements rolled into one. I used this to measure the humidity in my sink cabinets as I had a sink leak and needed to dry them well. I highly recommend this tool for measuring how wet the wood is inside. Worked well to get an idea of how long wood should dry. In terms of accuracy, it doesn't have any other comparison tool, but I just measured a dry case and a wet case to get an idea of what the "dry" reading should be. I think all wood has a certain moisture content depending on where you live.
