Review on Upgraded Titanium Heatbreak Thermal Printer by Mike Hernandez

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not processed to specification and not recommended.

Of the two I received, one was 5.32mm and the other was 5.28mm. The stock Prus heatsink was 5.5mm thick. This provides poor contact and thus leads to poor heat conduction from heatsink to heatsink, which is NEEDED to prevent heat leakage (which is the reason for the 'upgrade'). I still have problems with heat creep and constipation. I used thermal paste to fill the gap but not enough to prevent thermal creep/clogging. I do not recommend this product until they can test tolerances of 5.475m +/- 0.03mm or better. " for petg and press. But I don't recommend it if you plan to print with any PLA as you will probably have the same problem. You might get lucky and get good enough detail, as in a few reviews but I wouldn't risk $16 to test it, especially with an initial rating of 3.7 (at the time of writing this article) and only 22 ratings (40% of which are 3 stars or worse.) Just pick Original or order from Triangle Labs on AliE (my TL was 5.45mm).

Pros
  • 3D printer parts and accessories
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
