MY GOD! What is Power and Hand Tool Drill

A 2.4 volt screwdriver that cost more than this 3 decades ago Tool. A bit with little power and even less battery life. I've been using this drill for a few days and of all the tools I've ever bought this is the first with a real wow factor. I had a couple of stumps that were rock hard and was driving me nuts. While this wouldn't be a primary concern for a drill, I really wanted to test the strength and disable the feature if it ran into trouble. He is well armed with a 1" x 17" ship drill. Straight out of the box side handle. It's a lot meatier than I expected. So I braced myself for the worst on my first hole and almost broke my wrists twice with 20V and chord drills. That old awful expression was the first thing that came to mind - Like a hot knife through butter. Wow I realized I hit a weak spot so I went again - same result. 6 stumps and 60-70 holes then I'm speechless. I used up one battery and the other was dead when I stopped - I think that's a real testament to the complexity of the job - based on reading some bulk wood reviews. I went ahead, ordered a saw and can't wait. What makes them even more valuable is when I found out that rechargeable batteries with a maximum voltage of 20 volts can be used with my tools. I have a complete collection of 18 volt tools and I dread the inevitable battery replacement. I have 3 20 volt tools and can only imagine how long my dcl50 will last on a 60 volt battery. I was also surprised to see the price difference for one tool-less tool, one battery, two battery options. Buying a combination of 2 batteries is not difficult. I also feel that I have proven myself in the future. I noticed how old the 18-volt system is because some of my tools are more than ten years old. However, I think that the Flexvolt system protects the tooling investment. And no matter how expensive copper becomes, extension cords are too valuable to be "borrowedโ€ on the construction site "out of defianceโ€. Thank you DeWalt. I can't wait for Flexvolt to come to more powerful rock drills.

Pros
  • DEWALT drill has a 60V MAX* brushless motor for more power and run time
Cons
  • Some bugs
