Review on 📀 Samsung BD-P1500: 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player (2008 Model) - Top-notch Performance and Exceptional Clarity by Brad Dotson

I bought this player about a month ago and am very happy with it. I was dying to watch Blu-ray on my new 52" Samsung LCD, but I just didn't want to pay for an expensive player like the PS3. I've only had a few very minor issues with this player which is why I'm giving it a 5 star rating for its value. I've never had any problem playing Blu-ray disc or standard DVD and I've probably watched about 20 Blu-ray discs. The only glitches I've encountered are: 1) When I first turned this player on a couple of times, the sound and picture was just random pixels. I turned the player off and on again and everything was fine. This problem can occur not even in the player, but in the interface to my a/receiver - who knows? 2) Once after using fast forward, the audio track is out of sync with the video. I pressed stop and play and everything was fine after that. Player operation, menus, buttons and remote control functions are very satisfactory. I haven't used any other Blu-ray player, so I can't compare this player to others, but for my purposes, mostly movies and concerts, I have no issues with features or usability. If you are looking for a cheap Blu-ray player, this might be the one for you. If you want to hear sound through a good audio system (and not just the sound on your TV) make sure you understand the audio outputs and if this player is suitable for your audio system. In my case, I have a new AV receiver that can decode all the latest audio formats (TrueHD, DTS HD, Dolby Digital 5.1, etc.) so I wasn't concerned about the audio output limitations of this player. I just hooked it up to my receiver with an HDMI cable and the receiver does the rest. All in all I love having a Blu-ray and this player is just great. The picture on my LCD TV is amazing and the digital audio through the 7.1 speaker system is driving me crazy!
