Just TOUCH this wire and it will lose connection. Everything but your computer will be turned off. So you wait 10-15 seconds and everything mysteriously turns back on, but your sound is now coming from your computer and not your external speakers. You then fiddle with the Control Panel's Sound menu, plugging and unplugging this cable a few times until you get sound from your external speakers again. I'm not exaggerating about "touch". My Dell G7 has a Thunderbolt jack on the right side and I regularly touch that cable with just my mouse and the whole thing starts. Or when I've been messing around with the other end of the cable in my Caldigit Thunderbolt box (like connecting a device) I touch the cable on that end and the same thing happens. Expensive piece of junk.
