Bad delivery, good part.

the box was placed in an ENVELOPE the box did not arrive safely and intact at home. ICM avoided that sad fate! Installed on my 1989 LeSabre with a little secret sauce (10469468 & 10474166) Now my baby is purring again. It was tied to using only factory Magnavox blocks from the landfill. I believe the new Type 1 units do not follow the wiring that ALL 3800s use. You see, in 1989 they released the PRESERIES 3800, before that was 3.8L VIN 3. Vin 3 is not Vin C. Vin C is a pre-series, before series 1. Both VIN 3 and VIN C used Magnavox , but VIN 3 didn't have two strands on their harmonic balancer, so his ICM had different wiring to the pins. Power and ground were the same, but half of the other contacts were different. I don't think the people who make Magnavox systems these days are aware that there is a difference between the wiring/sensors from 1986-1988 and 1989-1990. They developed two Magnavox models with the same lead design but mirrored coil wires. If you have VIN C pre-series 3800 update it to 1977A. Grab the adapter brackets and screws. If you can't buy them new, look at the junkyard for 1991-1993 3800s. They had Magnavox mounts and used an adapter to convert to Type 2.
