They appear to be designed for momentary contact switches. You can turn on the switch, but you have to keep your finger on it. As soon as you let go, it turns off again. You have to stand there and hold it. You can flip it and instead the switch will stay on all the time, but if you want to turn it off you have to stand there and hold it down again.
