Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good for keychains, bad for business use.

As a firefighter I bought this last week to put on an MVA carbine and use it on wrecks. And so last night we had an MVA rollover where the passenger was hung in the car by a seatbelt. With her full weight on the strap, it was impossible to unlock it by conventional means. When we stabilized the car and started to drive, I crawled in and began attending to the patient. Luckily, she was conscious and escaped with only minor injuries. While the top of the car was being removed I wanted to try and get it down to the floor (driver's side) to get it 2 feet from the head as comfortably as you can with spreaders/cutters and a saw. I grabbed my archers' carbine and used a flashlight to rummage under the covers for my new suit. It was not. The key fob was still on my carabiner but no tool was found. The reason for this was discovered this morning when I was finishing my shift and looking for the tool in the engine room behind the rig. The plastic part on the key ring broke off and was there X time. Don't worry I've seen them in action and they work well. Just be careful when combining them with other gear as they are not the most reliable tool to use.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Safety
