Amazing Landscape Lens

First of all, to understand the context of this review, I consider myself an average beginner photographer. I take the time to try and think about the pictures I take, but I'm still not that good. I felt like I had reached a plateau with the kit lens that came with my D3200. With the stock 18-55mm lens, I failed to take impressive landscape photos. Most of the time I didn't realize I couldn't compose a photo (while I was shooting), but when I put the images on the big screen, the photos just never left me in awe. I understand that my plateau may be due to my lens. I traveled around Utah in Caynonlands and Arches National Parks with a friend of mine who is a much better photographer (and has significantly more money invested in his photography gear). He photographed all of his landscapes with a wide-angle 10-22mm lens. I never stopped thinking that a wide angle would be so good for landscapes, but as we went through our photos it was like night and day. I was shooting with my kit lens all weekend and he shot everything with his wide angle. His photos were so much better that I bought this lens. I have to say I love this lens. I really don't have anything technical to support this claim. All I know is that my landscapes are SO much better now. I have found that I almost always shoot landscapes with a maximum width of 10mm. Photos are nice and clear, focus works as it should and photos come out great. If you're considering this lens for outdoor landscape photography, don't feel too limited to f/4-5.6. I've never had a problem with needing a faster lens; However, I have not yet attempted to photograph landscapes outdoors at night. Personally, I don't find it necessary to spend twice as much on a Nikon lens. Hope this review helps. I'll post some of my favorite photos on the user's pictures page. You will not regret buying this lens.
