Review on 🎞️ Wolverine F2D 35mm Film to Digital Image Converter with LCD Display and TV Connectivity by Jeff Drollinger

I bought this particular digital converter based on a number of positive reviews compared to other similar products. After rummaging around in the attic and pulling out boxes of 35mm photographs with negatives and color slides, I began the arduous task of sorting through thousands of images to determine what I wanted to keep. To test Wolverine I decided to start with about 50 slides and 40 negatives. I read the user manual several times and then connected the USB cable (included) to the device and then to the computer. Before turning it on, I put four slides in the compartment (there are separate compartments for negatives and slides) and try to blow the dust off. I used the little cleaning head that's on top of the light table and stuck it in the hole, soft side down (if it gets stuck on the lid upside down). Then I turned it on, followed the simple instructions, selected "Slides", inserted the tray into the slot on the side until the first slide appeared on the LCD, pressed "OK/Copy" to scan, and then pressed again to save. Then I pushed the tray until the next slide was on top and repeated this process. It only took a few seconds to scan and save an image. Before you scan an image, you can rotate it 90 degrees right or left and save it. & w negatives, but haven't tried them yet), used the cleaning tool again, put the drawer in place, and repeated the process for the slides. Again, about five seconds per picture. So it's fast, but what about the image quality? Although I bought an SD memory card for the device, I haven't used it yet. Instead, Wolverine saves images that can be dragged onto a computer screen, acting as a memory stick. It won't hold much (about 40 images or so, depending), but it's convenient to use. Selecting the USB icon and double clicking Go/Copy sent the images to my computer. Looking at the pictures, I immediately noticed that it is necessary to clean the light table as much as possible, since every particle of dust settles on it and causes stains. I think all the other reviewers mentioned this for a good reason. How accurate it plays, my overall score is a B+. Dust issue aside, I think Wolverine handles it pretty well, even better than I expected. Colors were pretty accurate, including skin tones; Image sharpness and contrast were not reduced compared to the original recordings. I found that (unsurprisingly) original images, whether slides or negatives, performed well or poorly depending on the original image. Low-light shots in particular, especially indoor shots, looked too dark. Conversely, shots taken in well-lit areas or outdoors during the day looked really good. I sent the images I wanted to save to a folder on my hard drive and experimented a bit with some imaging software (ArcSoft PhotoImpression). I was able to apply some corrections to the darker images, which should be easy with most image editors. I then removed the Wolverine images and repeated the process. I'll probably use the SD card I bought once I actually get into a few big conversion sessions, but it works well enough for relatively small batches. I think the Wolverine handles 35mm negatives a little better than the slide; Whether this is because negatives are typically kept and rarely touched compared to slides, or because Wolverine is simply better at handling negatives I don't know. The difference isn't very noticeable, but overall I think the negatives work a little better. Although I haven't spent that much time with Wolverine, so far it has worked as well as I had hoped. Considering the importance of dust protection, this unit is easy to set up and get up and running, feels solid, requires no software and can be powered either via the USB adapter (included) or directly from a power source. computer and really does a great job. I don't know how it will behave in the long term, but for now I'm happy.
