Wow. On the outside of one of the bottles I received was a pair of long black hairs from factory workers, ironically covered with an FDA food label. But anyway I took them out and put the bottles in the dishwasher before use. They have held up well to the wash although I don't think the size will hold up after many washes. Don't expect isolation. They're exactly what I wanted, so I'm happy with the punch. I use mine primarily for Metamucil and I keep one at work and one at home. The hole size fits me well and doesn't clog with mixture unlike other water bottles. It's also nice that I can see what I'm drinking and when the mixture has set.
