Bought some 3 inch units at the register on a whim a few years ago and found them incredibly useful. Those few stayed with me, but there came a time when I wanted to get more and this time use them more generously in my apartment. I recommend using at least 6" as you can always throw another wrap over some of the wires, however 3" may not be enough for too large a bundle of wires. So 6in turned out to be the winner in my books. I also like that they are reusable and don't break with use. When used correctly, they are as strong as a zip tie, saving you the hassle of cutting zip ties on the road when something changes or needs adjustment.
