Review on πŸ”§ Introducing the Shankly Spring Compressor Tool: A Heavy Duty, Strong and Durable Coil Spring and Strut Spring Compressor by Chris Scalia

Works like clockwork

I used this to replace the front shock absorbers on my 2014 GMC Sierra Denali. I have used J-Hook style spring compressors in the past and they have never been so incredible to use. They always came out of the auto parts store's loan program, and while they worked, they always seemed a little sketchy in their jobs. These were the largest coil springs I've ever used this type of compressor on and I've heard other people have trouble with Loaner compressors on this application so I figured it would be better to buy a kit than Loaner to use again. I saw this set used in a video for the same car and I read a lot of reviews about it here and decided to give it a try. Before using, I lubricated ALL threads with bearing grease for extra lubrication. They arrived with a good oil finish, but a thicker lube wouldn't hurt. I was very impressed with how durable they seemed during operation and my use. I did NOT use the included stabilizer bar that attaches to each of the individual compressors for added stability. Based on how they feel during compression I didn't feel it was necessary. I don't think I'll be needing them very often, but given their solid feel, I don't think it'll be a problem if I do. The price seemed reasonable even if I would never use them again. The store should have charged me as much, if not more, for simply replacing the shock absorbers after removing them from the car. If I had to do it all over again I would definitely buy this set again.

Pros

Cons
