Good thread. It's not as strong as you'd like, but it works like regular floss and you're getting a lot of it at 4 ounces. Kitchen sink. It is easy to work with, inserts well into a needle or sailing needle, and can be used to mend webbing, nylon bags, pouches and other corduroy fabrics. Breaking strength is about 5 lbs. I did some lifting tests by attaching it to a small wooden handle and then lifting different weights. The breaks were almost always in the middle of the strand at around the 5 pound mark. Not bad for a thread. I don't think this would work for sewing boots, but it would work for mending tennis shoes or similar fabrics. The thread burns by itself. When sewn into the fabric, it is more fire resistant. With these threads I sewed two pieces of carbon fiber felt (a sweat blanket) and built a fire in a small stove over them. The carbon felt doesn't burn, but the thread, which has lost its outer coating (cotton) just below the stove, leaving the bare inner Kevlar blend behind. He's not burned out, but clearly weakened. Overall this is a good strong yarn for general and outdoor use.
