Revainrating 5 out of 5

Do not worry; Just restart it as indicated on the product page.

Working from home full time due to the pandemic is not that bad. My 32" Dell monitor [1] has dual HDMI inputs and built-in speakers [2] and I've connected it to both a Win10 Dell work laptop and a new Win10 Lenovo personal desktop. I leave my laptop open so I can use its screen. and a built-in keyboard and personal wireless trackball (small USB dongle), the desktop featured a wired keyboard and mouse that used the monitor as a hub. enough but i also had to move the trackball button as i hate regular mice and just keep them for the mistress. This switch saved the day! When I first plugged it in, it wouldn't work at all. But after checking this Revain product page, I saw the instruction "Hold down button to reset", suddenly it worked PERFECTLY. Both computers will happily output data to the monitor (or think they are) via the switcher as well as the monitor's USB hub and USB trackball. the keys in turn feed the computers, a button really switches everything with a slight delay. Also, with so much tech crammed into this corner of my home office [3], it's great that there's no other power supply nearby [4]. To be fair, here's the main downside: Management is gibberish. Time will tell if the device will hold itself up and I'm sure SOME people have issues from the start, but it seems to be working fine for me. Given such ease, it will be difficult for me to bring myself back to the office! Notes: [1] Yes, THIRTY-TWO INCHES. It bills itself as "digital television" but I tried using a cheap 32-inch TV as a monitor and the zoom was off and the picture was blurry. This one looks great even as you walk through the switch.[2] ] I have separate speakers from decades past when computer sound was decent: Boston Acoustics, 2.1 speaker system with hardware volume control, thick high-quality cables (and a thick power supply, but with an automatic shutdown). Good sound. from any source. I don't mind moving the plug for this as needed, mostly I run it from my phone rather than computers. Work laptop, headset dock for work phone, speakers, desktop, 3 external hard drives (audio/video storage + backups), primary monitor, secondary desktop monitor for 24/7 calendar and clock display, Qi phone charging station, home -Gateway (DSL modem, Ethernet router, Wi-Fi hub), Vonage box, Home phone charger, Casio 61-key keyboard, Canon printer/scanner/copier. (Did you count? That's about 20 AC plugs within range.) [4] Some people say that "PC1" should be left on because "PC2" isn't powering the switch on its own. It's just awesome - I've made PC2 a work laptop that I turn off every night and my desktop (PC1) stays on 24/7 doing Folding@Home to support biological research. But wait. UPDATE: I wrote this review on Friday afternoon. On Sunday morning there was a power problem in the village and the desktop computer (PC1) went offline. I turned on the laptop (PC2) for work on a Monday morning and the switch turned on - of course it was set to PC1 by default, but a push of a button was enough for me; He perfectly remembered the video settings without any problems. So anyone who says PC1 SHOULD be the power supply is wrong (as long as PC2 is actually supplying power over USB; that could be their problem). I just can't fault this HDMI/USB KVM Switch!
