I'm used to a P-7 grinder at work, a $3000 machine. It was slower than the commercial P-7 but fast enough to be used without long waits. What surprised me is that it was so quiet and didn't overheat during an hour of continuous use. I was worried the patches would be too big because I'm used to the P-7. I was happy with the level of grinding. I didn't feel like anyone would take the work out of putting it back together. In 2011, DARPA faced the challenge of shredding with computer vision. I'm wondering if it's possible with today's machine vision to put the pieces together? With P-5 you have 3770 particles per side. If someone shreds 200 pages for a full shopping cart, that means 1/2 million particles apt if all can be displayed. If one wanted more security, one could wet the particles, causing them all to stick together, which would make automated assembly very difficult. I'm sure it's overkill for home use, but hey, sometimes you just want to overdo it.
