Non-Stick MDF Chipboard

The first few photos show how I learned to make posters and signs out of vinyl. The same goes for this type of adhesive backing - pull down from the center and a small amount at a time when removing bubbles. Not as cheap as I thought but still cheap. With one roll I was able to make all of the interior walls and a 26 ¾" x 13 ⅝" closet shelf using leftover scraps. I decided to cut each side separately so I don't have to worry about tucking in those 90 degree corners. Any air will be just another reason to start peeling. I even cut slits across the protruding nails that came in those cheap cabinets. We bought the house from a pinball player who installed the cheapest and minimal hardware so updating the cabinets isn't a priority on the list. After finding a crack tube hidden in a cupboard, that was enough to give us certainty about what types of microorganisms could colonize the pores of the MDF board. Applying to the MDF board was easy. There was no chipboard shelf! I was too lazy to apply a thin layer of putty or plaster to smooth the surface. The result is air bubbles that had to be pierced with a needle and poor adhesion at corners and edges. For now I'm going to buy some rolls. The last 5 inches seemed unusable with folds, creases and clear tape holding them to the paper roll. Also, I don't notice the shine in the closet, which is great.
