I needed a backup solution that integrated with Active Directory (AD) to backup and secure Windows Server 2012 R2 drives. This NAS requires SMBv1 to be enabled for AD integration to work. The problem is that Microsoft deprecated SMBv1, which means; Do not use SMBv1 as Microsoft intends to remove it from Windows in a future release. Because of this requirement, I decided to send it back and look for another device. As for the NAS configuration (other than Active Directory), it was fairly easy to figure out if you're already familiar with networking, but if not I'd recommend something other than this unit. It contains a copy of NovaStor Backup, but it's also an old version.
