I needed a new gas meter as my old one broke so I stumbled across it and got a lot of good reviews so I decided to give it a try. When I first got it, I wanted to measure the sensitivity of the unit, so I followed the directions on first use and then tested it against known leak sources like an open gas grill or pilot unit, for which I got mixed results and inconsistent readings of the crowd of leakage even when I tried to use the sensitivity scale. A few weeks later I noticed a slight smell of gas coming from my gas meter so I asked the gas company to fix the problem. As part of the repair, the gas company performed a safety check on all my gas connections and found two very small leaks that my meter didn't register. I understand that the gas analyzer used by the gas company is a very sensitive and high-quality device, but it allowed me to test this device in parallel with mine for several minutes to evaluate the quality of my device. Basically we agreed that I should get rid of this detector as the detection rate for this device is very low quality so it ended up in my electronics recycling box as my 30 day return window had expired.
