Review on 🚘 Enhance Safety and Functionality with GM Genuine Parts D7096C Fog Lamp and Cargo Lamp Switch by Lance Harrison

I bought this for a 2005 Chevy 2500HD. The old switch failed due to the fog light button not resetting properly. I assume something happened internally to the spring mechanism. This switch fitted perfectly and it took me about 7 minutes to swap it out. Simply lower the steering wheel all the way down, without starting the engine, turn the key just enough to engage 1st gear (the lowest position of the handle. Make sure you set the parking brake), then take a small screwdriver and pry off the plastic frame around the dashboards. Note where the clips are located to make replacement easier. Don't force it. Just edit lightly and it will pop out. You now have access to the switch. Use a small screwdriver to pry up the clips at the top and bottom of the installed switch. You have to move it a little to get it out. There is a wiring harness on the back of the switch. Remove by lifting the latch on the connector. Then simply install the new switch and perform the steps in reverse order. Very easy. I don't know if this switch is reliable long-term, but it certainly went in easily and works well.
