Okay, let's clear something up. There's no option for 2700K (warm white), only 3000K (soft white), although several places state it's 2700K. If you scroll down to the specs, you'll see "Color temperature: 3000 Kelvin" at the very bottom. The term "warm white” is also misused. 3000K = soft white and 2700K = warm white. In any case, this is not an obstacle for me and I am very glad that I bought it. Unscrew the washer, top (bottom?), use the plastic cover as a template to cut out the circle, place in the lantern and screw back on. The tint I got makes it almost perfect (2700K) or warm white. In case anyone is interested, this is "Rosco Roscolux #302 Pale Bastard Amber", and one leaf should do the trick. With a transmittance of 88%, this means that the brightness is not reduced at all. As for the lamps themselves, let me say I like them. I really love her very much. They are well made, easy to install and the length of the cord makes it even easier. I wanted to make sure I could get to all the weird places I wanted and also keep gear out of sight so I also bought 4 extension cords for the lights. I'm glad I did because my single light wouldn't achieve what I wanted to set up. Not only would I buy them again, I've already bought another set of six. I will probably buy more for other projects around the house. Don't forget extensions. About $5 for 4 of them is worth the extra cost. UPDATE: 10/29/205 months later and I'm still happy with my purchase. They still work and look great. I only wish they had made a WiFi version. To be clear I wouldn't make them 100% wireless just replacing the remote and receiver with WiFi but hooked up to a smart plug at least I can turn them on and off as long as they don't dim or change color change . Still happy.
