Review on 🚚 Enhanced Trailer Light Power Module: Tekonsha 119147 ModuLite HD Protector by Mohammed Prude

Very compact unit. Fits easily behind my left rear light. It replaced an almost 14 year old unit that came with my Tacoma 06. The original trailer lights still worked perfectly, but the control unit made a whirring noise when the headlights were on. Unfortunately, after installing the Tekonsha unit, the rear light cable (brown) on the trailer plug was without voltage. Everything else worked, but it's a big mistake. Even though I have been working with low voltage equipment professionally for over 40 years, I spent another 30 minutes troubleshooting. I had to reinstall the old unit in the dark as I have to tow a trailer tomorrow. Another small issue was that the right turn signal wire was too short to reach the right tail light. A simple connection would be required, but it may have been intended for smaller vehicles rather than a mid-size truck. With all the time spent wiring, connecting and reinstalling the old device, it was a hit. You return to the mothership, you defective device. Unfortunately, Tekonsha is not on my shopping list next time. :(
