CONCLUSION - Beautiful and durable 5-star 18 gauge stainless steel sink. but installation issues and related delays prevent me from giving it the highest rating. Cabinet interior (front to back), I recommend it. I love the versatility of the dual mount and this sink has the most elegant look I've ever seen for a mortise mount. (Part numbers and more information on installation issues below.) PART NUMBER - According to Elkay Customer Service: Elkay 64090012 for insert clips and screws that were missing from our shipment Elkay GBG2416SS for a stainless steel guard to fit these sinks -- TWICE! Suppose underfloor clamps are NOT included, but undermount clamps are included. We did NOT receive any clips or screws so we sent the sink back and ordered another one. It also came with no clips or screws. Elkay customer service confirmed that the snap mount was included in the purchase price. They promised free shipping. Good of them, but it still resulted in delays for the contractor and more no-flush time for the client. The template for the sink cutout was also missing. It appears to be available online and can be printed if you have access to hardware that can handle large images. We decided to freehand draw our template, tracing the outline of the sink and approximating a distance equal to the distance between the edge of the sink and the grooves of the bracket. It worked well. INSTALLATION PROBLEMS. The double sink was ideal for a budget conscious client who now needed a new sink and countertop but was saving for a complete kitchen remodel in a few years. We planned to make a snap mount with laminate countertops as a temporary solution and then reuse the sink as the bottom mount when the quartz counters and new cabinets were installed. BUT . . . The 70 year old house's sturdy cabinets have 2 inch thick front frames instead of the typical 1 inch thick cabinet front. This was not discovered until the old, damaged countertop was removed. The cutouts for mounting the sink on the underside make it too deep (front to back) to fit in our cabinet. Leading and trailing edges cannot be pinched. We decided to find another model that was only 20 inches front to back instead of 22 inches. When all efforts failed to find a smaller drop-in vanity, we had to get creative and fit an Elkay vanity in close proximity. The sink fitted, but access to the front and back grooves on the underside (required to hold the sink in place) was blocked by our very thick cabinet fronts. We hope that with a snap-in mount, just the side grooves and clips plus additional silicone gaskets are enough to hold the sink in place. SINK β It's so pretty. I love the single bowl style which makes cleaning up large pots easier. It also leaves more cooking space than a double sink, which is always valuable in a small kitchen. The design is stylish, modern and attractive. This is 18 gauge stainless steel, much stronger than the 20 and 22 gauge sinks sold in major stores.
