I bought a 1959 house that had a garbage chute installed. After actually using the recycle and calling the plumber, I found that my pipes really weren't rated for what goes through the recycle. I bought these and they are exactly what I need. My sink is stainless steel and they match the look of my sink perfectly. They catch anything too big to fit through my tubes and nothing gets into the tubes on the side. They are easy to remove but not that easy to clean. Not difficult, but it will take you a minute and an old toothbrush. Best of all, they come in a pack of three! I am very comfortable.
