Review on K148 Evolution Drilled Slotted Ceramic by Ken Vargas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great brakes, improved brake feel.

The brakes have really improved the stopping power of my '03 Montero. I used to know I was going to need new rotors and at least new rotors when accelerating from 60 mph to 0 mph at a stop sign (I'm driving on county tarmac) the brake pedal shook along with the steering wheel. After putting them on, he put them away. My 90,000-mile 03 Montero was still on the OEM discs and pads, although since I'm changing pads, I might as well change rotors. Rotors are standard size so don't worry about wheels. Montero.Cross drilled AND slotted, i.e. the best of both technologies. Considering this is a 5,000-pound SUV, those holes could help them cool down faster. Installation went without any problems. Although the old rotor was welded to the hub and I had to hit it 10 times with a sledgehammer to knock it out. MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE THE SMALL SCREW ON THE ROTOR TO THE HUB. The power limiters don't come with these screws, nor do they line up with the screw hole, so I didn't pay much attention to that anyway. I don't think that tiny screw will make much of a difference when the rotor comes loose. Also, the wheel holds the rotor in place when bolted on. Overall these rotors were a good buy and I know my braking performance will not be compromised by a brand like Power Stop. I hope this review is helpful to you.
